Caturday Thoughts – The Mirror of Erised

The Mirror of ErisedThe Mirror of Erised. Like Professor Quirrel I see what I want and ponder how to get it. For those not familiar with Harry Potter, it is an enchanted mirror which shows those who look into it their deepest most desperate desire as if it were reality. So the professor sees the stone he is desperate to get for his master Lord Voldemort. Fortunately, I am not dealing with Lord Voldemort, nor do I want the philosopher’s stone. What I want is much simpler.

Land, enough to keep any neighbors ar a friendly distance. A house which belongs to me, not a landlord or a bank. A refuge for me and the cats designed to meet our needs and fill our wants until we have passed from the physical plane.

I think the majority of people living today are far from what they want and. Dumbledore tells Harry Potter a fulfiled and contented man would see only himself, as with a normal mirror. I don’t know many who would see that.

  1. Lavinia Ross says:

“Land, enough to keep any neighbors at a friendly distance. A house which belongs to me, not a landlord or a bank. A refuge for me and the cats designed to meet our needs and fill our wants until we have passed from the physical plane.” sounds like the perfect wish, Angela1313. May your wish come true.

  2. I have always been amazed by the concept of this mirror. Here is a fun read of it.
