I kept watching the agonizingly slow process of hurricane Dorian, hoping it would turn north, which it did, Earlier it rained like mad but when the heat hit we had no relief. I am glad I gave up on the idea of a garden, I lost several nice plants as it was. At least I got a decent crop of blackberries. Next year with proper staking and fertilizer, it should be evn better. But now the heat is still too high, 93F/ 34C. And of course the humidity makes it worse. So I was thinking some rain effect from Dorian might cool things down a little bit. And Thursday startted out overcast if not really cooler.
I had hoped Terry the handyman could come but there was no word. He mostly works for his landlord, so I only get him about one morning a week, which is why I have been living in a construction site for a year. He is reliable, unlike 90% of the contractors I have tried to deal with. He usually messages me when he can come and there was no word, so I adjusted my plans. Just to be sure I did odds and ends type of chores until 9:30 AM and then I went out to run errands.
