To my amazement the sun was out today and it actually went up to 55F/13C. I didn’t want to leave the windows open while I was at the store and the temperature was not going to go up until afternoon but it always makes Cloud’s day when I open the windows. He’d have them open in freezing weather but I am not giving in to that. Columbia Gas gets enough of my money as it is and burning fossil fuel is not such a good thing.
Of course cold and rain are predicted for tomorrow when I have to schlep a ton of laundry to the laundry and take little Sage back to Petsmart. I thought about loading the laundry tonight but by the time I got home and fed the cats, then myself, the temperature has started to drop enough Cloud no longer wanted to sit in the open window. I decided I was too tired and it was too cold and it could wait until tomorrow, I did bring it all into the living room and stack it by the door.
Saturday nights are usually pretty boring by many people’s standard, I would imagine. After we all eat I usually do some minor cleaning up and then watch some videos on YouTtube, usually documentaries or TED talks. I finally broke down and subscribed to streaming from MHz, a channel that is all foreign language shows, mostly mysteries, dramas and also some documentaries. Sometimes when they are in French I just listen and do some writing at the same time. Even though I am loosing my ability to speak, having no one to practice with, I can still understand all the dialogue. I find this very comforting. It connects me with my grandmother who was the person who first taught me.
I am usually surrounded by cats during this viewing, with the older crew taking positions on the futon and the kittens and Moe taking turns kneading on my chest. This often winds up with me having to adjust my posture to avoid a crick in the neck but tonight Moe was kind enough to lay down facing me. The evening ends early when I have laundry. I almost always need the big machine and need to get there right at 7:00AM to get it. So to ensure not oversleeping the lights go out early.
